While not nearly as glamorous as a new bathroom, the unseen maintenance you do on your home is extremely important. The last thing anyone wants is to move into a home and have to replace a leaky roof, drafty windows, or a water heater that’s on its last legs. If you think your house may be due for routine maintenance in the next year or two, consider getting them out of the way now so you can recoup the costs in the listing price. Buyers will appreciate the fact that they don’t have to worry about replacing the roof in the near future.

Outdoor space

When it comes to selling your home, don’t neglect the back yard. Most Australian families love to enjoy the warm springs and summers outside, so upgrading your space will help add value to your home. If you already have a deck outside, consider refinishing it for a fresh look. Or, if you’re willing to spend a little more, adding an outdoor kitchen or living space is an extremely popular addition to homes that essentially add square footage to your home.
